Choral Director – Miki Kiesler


Mrs. Miki Keisler is a graduate of Winthrop University where she received a Bachelor Degree in Choral Music Education and is an alumnus of Lexington High School.  She has received various vocal honors and achievements including ranking in the top ten Soprano I’s in the state, state and regional honors of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and various professional vocal positions both solo and choral.  Mrs. Keisler is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Elite Music Honor Society, the South Carolina Music Educators’ Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the American Choral Directors’ Association.  Mrs. Keisler currently serves as the SC State Choral Festival Chairman and volunteers with the SC All-State Chorus.  She has been the choral director at Gilbert High School for seven years.  Under her direction, groups and individuals have received various state and national awards including vocal collegiate scholarships, Superior Ratings, four State Championships in performance, one State Championship in Sight-Singing, three National Category Championships, five National Division Championships, and one National Grand Championship.  In addition to the ensemble’s achievements, Mrs. Keisler was also presented a National Award of Distinction among choral directors for a “notable contribution to musical excellence.”  Her ensembles have worked with distinguished composers such as Joseph Martin, Pepper Choplin, and Mark Hayes.  After working with Mrs. Keisler and her students, Joseph Martin remarked, “The performance of the singers was beyond my expectations, and the audience seemed to agree…It is rare these days to find this level of educational integrity.”
